Well, as you may know I am the recent author of my first book, A Woman’s Guide to Having it All, Life Lessons to Live By. The book follows my travels through life to overcome limiting beliefs, fears and personal and professional obstacles to ultimately arrive in a more enlightened space of gratitude, contribution and faith.
Within the book I also outline the 30 universal life lessons which have been instrumental in my development and which I feel are valuable for all people to live their most authentic lives. The journey from conception of the book idea to completion of the book to actually having the book in hand has been long, windy and profound. As I share in the book, although I have graduated into a higher state of consciousness, on most days I battle with the same fears, insecurities and negative self-talk as everyone else. However I now have more tools and knowledge of how to pull myself out of those states. These tools have been very necessary in that past few weeks.
I thought I would receive the books on a certain date in time for my first book signing event. Then I discovered that that was unlikely. Initially I went to a place of self-doubt, judgment and fear. I started thinking, “What will the people think about me if I arrive without books? I have totally blown this opportunity!” Thankfully over time I have built my enlightened muscle which kicked in and said, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the books, everything will be fine. You can still empower the group with your words and use this as a story to share with them. It will all unfold as it is supposed to.” And guess what? The book arrived at 12 noon on the day of the event! If I had spent all my time worrying and stressing about what might happen it would have been in vain, because that never happened. So use me as an example, be present in the moment and make the best out of the situation. Don’t worry about the future because you never know what will happen and your worrying will rob you of enjoying the moment you are in.
