Joe and I moved into our beautiful 1907 Craftsman home in 2003 and although it had pretty landscaping, I really wanted to make it my own. As I was searching for what my professional calling was in this lifetime I thought that being a landscape designer might be a good fit. So I took over the project of doing a major landscape remodel to our front and back yards. I have always loved the infusion of plants and accessories that have bright colors and an exotic and tropical feel hailing from Bali, Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean. I used mainly succulents as well as my two other favorite selections which were Podocarpus as my fence framing hedge and potted Cymbidium Orchids.
So now almost 10 years later although I didn’t decide to become a landscape designer I have created the most lush and personal oasis in the middle of the inner city of Los Angeles. As I am surrounded by all this natural beauty I feel closest to my creator and am reminded of the genius of this world. When I start to feel worn down by my day I escape to my backyard and I can feel my source energy grounding me. What a blessing indeed!
